Fibrations! 2014

Admittedly, I have been falling behind in my yarn bombing.

Between school and become interested in making bigger or more themed things, as opposed to the small or abstract yarn bombs I have previously been doing. I want to do more things like the picnic I did for INYBD.
But that takes time and resources, which is getting harder as school goes on ( more and more work load).

So technically this isn't a yarnbomb, but I did take my new Mario Mushroom 8-bit blanket to Fibrations to show it off!

Some other people took pictures of it too, so I think it was well received.

The festival itself was super fun. I wandered around, talked with Dela, had some free tea. It was great.
I can't wait for next year!

International yarn bombing day 2012

Whew.

I don't know about any of you, but installing the largest yarn bomb I have ever done, was a lot of work.
Today, I set out to complete the best International Yarnbomb that I could think of.
I had a picnic!

And set up my picnic yarn bomb.

With yarn food and yarn drinks, my friends and I added real food and real drinks and had a wonderful picnic.
There was even boccie ball!
I installed vines of flowers around the gazebo the picnic table was under.

And in addition to the whole picnic spread, I yarn bombed two of the empty poles up by the road.

Some of you may recall this location from the Knotty by Nature yarn bomb, from their grand opening. It is part of why I came back to this location for International yarn bombing day. They are such a great crew over there.

Here is a picture of Brandy installing one of them. I wasn't tall enough to get it up there. I am so glad I have awesome friends!

And here's Brandy installing the other.

To top it off, I added one little mushroom, alone in the grass beside our picnic.
I had so much fun! So many people came by and told me they loved it. Some even said I was an inspiration. My insides melted with that. This is why I yarn bomb. Because it genuinely makes people happy, interested, excited; all these positive wonderful emotions.

I hope you all have had a wonderful International Yarnbombing Day! And if you haven't had a chance yet, go out and yarn bomb something!

Birthday and gifts

So I can't remember if I mentioned this or not, but I threw a yarn party for my birthday!
It was basically a cheap ploy to get more yarn, and guy what peeps? It worked!
Look at how much yarn people brought!

And I found it entertaining that I got two bundles of camo yarn. That's going to be fun to play with. And lots of my favorite, the kind that goes from one color to another and another and so on!

Anyway, in other news, I made up some Super Mario Brothers type things this week, cause this couple at work really likes the games (well, the guy more so than the girl, but I think the girl likes the cute yarn craft).
For Ben's birthday, I made him this green 1 up mushroom.

And then for our birthday dinner (the couple, myself and my roommate), I made them this Piranha Plant in tube, and this red mushroom.

It's been a lot of fun making them. I want to make mushrooms in all kinds of colors, but I also want to be true to what mushrooms there really are. Either way, they are fun to make.
Hopefully I will get to do more yarn bombing today on my bike ride.
